Putting a tune to the ABC game can put real meaning to your child's alphabet learning

Score with this reading game for kids

Art offers creative solutions to ABC for kid activities.

Some basic supplies you'll need are stenciled letters, alphabet stickers, crayons or colored markers, and blank sheets of paper.

Print the letter stencils from your computer and cut them out.

Unless you already have sticker paper at home, you can probably buy alphabet stickers cheaper than you can make them yourself.

The idea here is to give your child a learning edge, not to overspend on supplies for an expensive ABC for kid activity.

The biggest investment you'll be making is your time and attention. This is the most essential element required to ensure your child's alphabet learning success.

Let your child sit with you at a table where the two of you can work together.

Begin this alphabet game by reading her ABC book to her.

No matter how many times you've read it before, give it one more read. After all, your child is the MVP (most valuable player) in this game.

Once you've finished reading the book, return to the letter "A" page. Ask your child to pick the stenciled letter that looks like an "A".

Once she picks her letter, offer paper and a marker or crayon. Hold the letter in place for her and let her trace it.

It doesn't have to be perfect; it just has to be a beginning. And what an important beginning it is… an ABC for kid activity that helps develop her hand and eye coordination, fine motor skills, and her healthy self-esteem.

When she's completed her letter, offer the alphabet stickers and ask her to pick the letter "A". Let her place the "A" sticker beside the letter she has traced.

Now...

A Vital Part Of Alphabet Learning
Is Sounding Out Letters

So... encourage your child to sound it out as well. Pronounce words that begin with the letter "A" and persuade your child to say them with you.

To complete her "A" project, let your child draw pictures of words that begin with that letter.

Keep this ABC game simple. Use words that your child can understand and with which she's familiar.

Choose easy, familiar ABC for kid words. Try offering words like the names of animals she knows or food items she eats.

One of the best features of this ABC for kid activity is that you do it bit by bit.

Don't spend so much time on a certain letter that your child becomes bored. But do spend enough time so that she develops some sense of recognition and understanding.

Make sure that you display your child's alphabet artwork throughout the house where she can see it. This will help her with visual recognition of letters.

Most importantly, it lets her know that you are proud of her and her work.
