A Sweeter Tune To The ABC Game

"This ABC game always gives such good results!"

"Mom, I keep mixing up the elimo part".
"The "elimo" part. Sweetie, what's that"?
"You know Mom… the "elimo" part in the ABC game.

Listen to kids singing their ABC's and you'll quickly learn that the "elimo" part is the singing of the letters L-M-N-O-P.

Children just somehow naturally roll the L-M-N-O and P letters together into their own new word. Try singing the alphabet… bet you've been making the same mistake all these years too.

It's not unusual for children to interpret new sounds differently - and often incorrectly. Fact is… the alphabet lends itself to many wrong interpretations.

Perhaps your child needs help cracking the mystery and real meaning of her letters.

Lucky for you…

There's an incredibly easy, fun alphabet learning game she can play to put understanding and real meaning to her letters. It's called…

Letter of the Day

Make each day an adventure for your child as you help her learn her letters.

For this ABC game you'll use paper cutouts, animal crackers, or plastic letters. Start playing the game every morning.

Offer your child her very own "Letter for Today".

If it's paper or plastic, she can display it on the fridge with a magnet. If it's a cookie, she can have it as a special early-in-the day treat.

Try adding fun to this alphabet learning game by making up silly songs she can sing like "Amy has an apple in the afternoon…Amy has another apple by the moon…Amy's Aunt Alice eats applesauce with a spoon".

You get the idea. Add any words you choose that begin with the letter you're teaching that day.

Also, let your child add her own alphabet verses to the tune.

While playing this game, you're offering her the chance to become a real pro with her letters and to develop cognitive skills. As she thinks about words for her song, she's also developing reasoning power and forming logical-thinking skills.

Try to include interesting activities when your child plays this ABC game. It will help place the letter firmly in her mind.

You can also offer drawing paper and crayons to draw pictures of words that begin with the letter of the day. Keep another piece of paper handy so that you can help her write words beginning with that letter as she thinks of them.

And while we're at it, you can also…
