The Absolute Worst Way To Buy A Baby Toy Is Being Too Nonchalant
The greatest lesson I’ve learned about buying the right baby toy is to
be picky! Fussy. Choosy. Finicky. Selective. Whatever you'd like to call it.
Let me explain...
About 16% of children have one or other disability. Most unfortunate, but sadly
true.
These disabilities include learning disabilities, emotional disturbances or
speech-and-language impairments. The result... they eventually struggle at
school and never reach full potential.
And the sad thing is... most of these disabilities could have been prevented
with the right stimulation... starting as early as in their very first year.
My experience shows picky parents simply make enough time to choose the
right toy for their child.
So for picky parents, here are a few great baby toys for consideration:

For newborns...
Start off by getting mobiles and activity centers. They're always great
value-for-money infant toys.
Baby toys for infants younger than 6 months...
Choose from
mobiles, chiming toys,
activity
centers,
mats, rattles,
teething rings,
soft blocks,
soft toys, bold colorful pictures and toys in different textures. Even toys such
as squeeze toys can also be very helpful to promote clutching and handling.
For 6-9 month olds...
the best toy buys are
building
blocks,
activity
centers, activity boxes and cubes,
stacking ring
& cones,
material and board books, and
bath toys.
For 9-12 month olds...
Choose building blocks, stacking blocks and rings, nesting cups,
cardboard and material books,
push and
pull toys,
containers, large crayons, spades and buckets... to name but a few fun toys.
If your baby is older than 12 months
Choose basic puzzles (preferably with knobs for easy handling),
wooden toys,
music toys,
brooms, toy telephones, balls,
push and
pull toys,
stable
ride-on toys,
toy cars, tractors and picture books.
And if you're looking for a great baby toy for this age... also consider
hammering toys.
