Kids Learn Spanish
Kids learn Spanish with Beth Manners' Spanish in a Basket which comes with puppets, plush animals, picnic foods/basket etc. to engage children in dramatic play... all while learning Spanish. The kit includes 4 CD's and 1 DVD plus all of the toy items needed.
The CD directs children in various games, songs and dances. For example, the first lesson introduces Bobby a little American boy and Maria a Spanish-speaking girl. Bobby wants to learn Spanish so he can play with Maria. Adorable Bobby and Maria finger puppets are supplied and children use them to learn greetings, my name is etc. A few songs are introduced which reinforce the vocabulary.
In later lessons, children pack a picnic basket to learn the foods, they play restaurant, they visit Barcelona and they dance. Each lesson reviews and adds vocabulary so that children hear the phrases in different contexts, building a practical working vocabulary.
There are all-in-Spanish stories at the end of the lessons, which also review vocabulary. The stories can also be viewed on the DVD. Definitely a fun way for kids to learn Spanish.
