Revealing Reasons Why You Must Think About Getting Your Child A Music Toy

A new music toy is hitting the marketplace every day... thanks to digital technology. This wide range of toys give parents a variety of options to expose their children to music.

Music is more than just a diversion for children.

Research has shown that music, even beginning at birth, stimulates a child's brain and helps develop listening and creativity skills. Playing a musical instrument also has been shown to boost children's emotional, intellectual and physical development while giving them an edge in the classroom and on standardized tests.

Infants too small for even rudimentary toys can still benefit by listening to music. Toy and music stores often feature recordings of children's songs and classical music specially designed for very young children.

As children grow a bit older, the choices facing parents are almost too many to count. Colorful one-octave "pianos" and xylophones have long been popular as have toys that play songs that children can dance or sing along to at the push of a button.

Toy versions of other musical instruments, such as banjos, guitars and trumpets, help children explore how their different actions produce different sounds. Drums and other percussion toys always seem to intrigue kids (and send their parents scrambling for the aspirin bottle!).

For older children, digital electronics allow manufacturers to produce mini-versions of pianos, guitars and other instruments that enable parents to gauge a child's interest in playing an instrument before investing in the far-more-expensive real thing.

When it comes to today's music toys, there are more choices than ever to beat the band!
